Drone flight ban in border and national security areas extended until November 15, 2025.

List of Specific National Security Areas:
- Sattahip District, Chonburi Province
- Mueang Rayong District, Rayong Province
- Phayuha Khiri District, Nakhon Sawan Province
- Mueang Ratchaburi District, Ratchaburi Province
Details of Airport Surroundings and Other Areas:
- Radius of 9 kilometers (5 nautical miles) from all airports.
- Includes Khok Katiam Airport, Lopburi Province, and Prachuap Khiri Khan Airport.
- Including other areas that may be specifically designated by security agencies.
Flight Conditions in Authorized Areas
For drone operations outside designated No-Fly Zones, users must still strictly adhere to the established regulations and conditions to ensure safety and legal compliance.
Drone Registration
Users must first properly register their drones with the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT).
Apply for Permission in Advance
Submit a request via the system at least 3 working days in advance. UAS Portal
Notify Relevant Authorities
Notify flight information to the Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center.
Flight Time Limits
Flights are permitted between 06:00 – 18:00 hrs. Flying is strictly prohibited from 00:01 – 04:00 hrs.
Exemptions for Government Agencies
Drones utilized for government missions—such as those by the Military, Police, Customs, Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, and the National Intelligence Agency—are exempt. However, for operations within No-Fly Zones, prior notification must be submitted via the UAS Portal, and the security agencies responsible for the area must be informed.

CAAT Extends Drone Ban in Border and National Security Areas until November 15, 2025.
The Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) has issued Notification No. 9 regarding the "Prohibition of Unmanned Aircraft (Drone) Operations in Areas Potentially Affecting National Security During the Thai-Cambodian Border Situation."
The notification relaxes restrictions by limiting drone No-Fly Zones to specific districts within 5 border provinces, and extends the control measures until November 15, 2025. or until further notice. This decision follows coordination with security agencies, who deem it necessary to maintain national security and public order.
The No-Fly Zones designated under Notification No. 9 include:
Provinces along the Thai-Cambodian border:
Sa Kaeo
Buriram
Si Sa Ket
Surin
Ubon Ratchathani
Special Control Area:
Khlong Hat, Aranyaprathet, Khok Sung, and Ta Phraya Districts (Sa Kaeo Province)
Lahan Sai and Ban Kruat Districts (Buriram Province)
Phu Sing, Khun Han, and Kantharalak Districts (Si Sa Ket Province)
Phanom Dong Rak, Kap Choeng, Sangkha, and Buachet Districts (Surin Province)
Khemarat, Na Tan, Pho Sai, Si Mueang Mai, Khong Chiam, Sirindhorn, Buntharik, Na Chaluai, and Nam Yuen Districts (Ubon Ratchathani Province)
Area within a 9-kilometer radius of the airport:
Airports Designated in Notification Issue No. 9 (e.g., Chiang Mai Airport, Phitsanulok Airport, Udon Thani Airport, etc.)

Flight Conditions in Authorized Areas under Notification Issue No. 9:
Users must register their drone and the drone operator with (CAAT) in compliance, and submit an advance application for authorization at least 3 days via the system UAS Portal and notify flight details to Counter-Unmanned Aircraft Systems Center (C-UAS Center)

Flight operations are permitted between the hours of 06.00 – 18.00 น. If operations are required outside the permitted hours, permission must be obtained from (CAAT) However, flying is prohibited between the hours of 00.01 – 04.00 น. in all cases
Flight must not exceed 90 meters (300 feet) above ground level (AGL) in authorized areas. If flight operations deviate from the specified conditions, an additional application for permission must be submitted to (CAAT) Through UAS Portal

Exemptions for Government Agencies:
